In September 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "Notice on Carrying Out Special Remediation of Hazardous Waste",before the end of last year, investigate nationwide chemical industrial parks, hazardous waste generation organizations in key industries,hazardous waste environmental risks of all hazardous waste business companies,eliminate hidden environmental risks.
On September 30, 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "Technical Specifications for the Control of Pollution Caused by Waste Lead Acid Battery (Draft for Comment)".
On October 15, 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has issued guidance on improving the environmental monitoring capabilities, utilization and disposal capabilities of hazardous wastes, and environmental risk prevention capabilities.
On November 12th and 13th, 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the General Rules for the Identification of Hazardous Wastes (GB 5085.7-2019) and the Technical Specifications for the Identification of Hazardous Wastes on the official website,this is the first revision after the formulation and release in 2007.This revision of the "General Principles" and "Regulations" encourages the resource utilization of hazardous waste, further improves the hazardous waste identification procedures and testing technical requirements, shortens the identification cycle, and reduces identification costs.
On November 12, 2019, the General Office of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "Pollution Control Standards of Hazardous Waste Incineration (Second Comment Draft)".
On February 13, 2020, the Department of Raw Materials Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that it would guide key cement enterprises to restart production in an orderly manner, enhance cement kiln co-processing medical waste, and ensure the demand for medical waste disposal in key areas.
On February 24, 2020, the National Health and Health Commission, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Market Supervision,National Healthcare Security Administration,the 10 ministries jointly issued the "Work Plan for Comprehensive Treatment of Waste in Medical Institutions",the plan is to solve the problem of insufficient medical waste centralized disposal facilities,it is clearly required that under-standard provinces should achieve at least one centralized medical waste disposal facility that meets the operational requirements in each above the prefecture level city by the end of 2020; by the end of June 2022, each county (city) will have completed the collection of medical waste transshipment disposal system.
On March 10, 2020, the national standard "Technical Requirements for Solid Waste Vitrification Products (Consultation Draft)" is open for comments, and the feedback form must be completed by May 10, 2020.
